Buffalo Thunder, 12" X 12", acrylic on American Easel cradle board was recently completed by Lake Oswego fine artist George Porter following a summer trip to our nation's national parks. Both awed and disturbed by the majestic Grand Tetons, the artist could not help but notice the lack of buffalo roaming wild on the plains. He painted this beautiful landscape to call on memories of an earlier time when the buffalo roamed wild and free, and the Native Americans were one with the land and the majestic mountains in Grand Teton National Park.
Buffalo Thunder is available for purchase. Priced at $200.00, this painting can be purchased in the artist's online store. For more information or to commission a new painting, please contact George Porter.

The masterful tapestry of light and color in Sunrise Coast of Maine, a study by George Porter after C.H. Gifford in the luminist style of the master Hudson River School painter, has been created with careful attention to the original oil painting. The richness of color, sharp contrast and glowing light is spellbinding. One has the impression that the sailboat in the distance is somehow sailing off to a better place as it navigates towards the heavens from the reflected light in the water. This painting will be on display and available for purchase in the artist's upcoming solo exhibit at Cascade Sotheby's in Lake Oswego. For more information please contact George Porter.

Fine artist George Porter created Andy in the Mountains as a study of Albert Bierstadt's famous In the Mountains. A gift for his daughter, it was painted in loving memory of Andy Andy Bo Bandy, her chestnut thoroughbred gelding and eventing champion, who died tragically on May 21, 2014. On the far shore you can see the artist's daughter on Andy watching, dressed for a dressage event, as Andy now leaves this world, galloping wild and free in the right foreground. Behind him, his grandfather, Seattle Slew, can be seen in the rocks watching over the newborn foal. Patiently waiting in the light-filled clouds above, a heavenly Andy waits for the artist's daughter who will always and forever be his "person". Andy you were magnificent and you are missed every day.
