Canyon Lights, acrylic on canvas by George Porter

Recently completed, Canyon Lights, acrylic on canvas, 36" X 48", is an original acrylic painting by George Porter. It depicts a view from Cape Royal on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon at sunset. On the left, the arching towers of Wotans Throne rise majestically towards an active cloud-filled sky colored scarlet, orange, magenta, purple and yellow from the setting sun. On the right, a lone Condor flies over the canyon valley towards the viewer. 

George Porter created Canyon Lights as a gift for his wife at her request. Canyon Lights recently was submitted by the artist for inclusion in the Spring Juried Show at Oregon Society of Artists, 2185 SW Park Place, Portland, Oregon 97205March 6-31, 2016. Paris Street Scene by George Porter

Paris Street Scene, a study by George Porter in oil on canvas was painted by the artist, after seeing the original painting hanging in a restaurant in Lake Oswego, OR in the 1990's and traveling to Paris, France in 1988. Paris Street Scene first debuted in artist's first solo exhibit "After the Masters: Light in the Landscape", May 1 - Nov 30, 2015 at Stone Center, Inc. in SE Portland.

Originally painted for the artist's daughter, the painting is part of her private collection; however, a fine art giclée of Paris Street Scene is available for purchase, and George Porter is also accepting commissions for new paintings.
