the dancer, oil on canvas, study by George Porter after Pierre-Auguste Renoir, was painted in the 1990's when George was studying art at Portland Community College. It is a beautiful rendition of Renoir's original painting by the same name. The artist used a mottling technique in the background of the painting utilizing a palette of soft colors that compliment the figure's porcelain skin and transparent ballet dress perfectly.
